Eng. Boniface Kinyanjui is the Acting Director of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Directorate at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), where he provides strategic leadership and oversight in the regulation and development of Kenyaā€™s electricity subsector.
He joined EPRA in 2024 from Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in power system operations, infrastructure development, and energy sector planning.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to key national and regional energy initiatives, including Least Cost Power Development Planning, the structuring and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and the development and coordination of Kenyaā€™s nuclear energy capacity-building programme under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
