PUBLIC NOTICE: INVITATION TO PUBLIC CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOPS ON THE REVIEW OF KENYA PIPELINE COMPANY (KPC) IMPORT HANDLING, PRIMARY STORAGE AND TRUCK LOADING TARIFFS

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is Kenya’s energy sector regulatory agency established under the Energy & Petroleum Act, 2019 with responsibility for economic and technical regulation of the electric power, renewable energy, coal and petroleum subsectors. KPC has submitted an application to review the import handling, primary storage and truck loading tariffs pursuant to provisions of the Act, which mandates EPRA to review and approve existing tariffs every three (3) years. In accordance with Article 33 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, EPRA will embark on public and stakeholder consultations with a view to receiving comments on the KPC jetty handling and primary storage tariff application at the regions listed below and the specified dates from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

More interested in discussing the importation of affordable renewable energy to be used in Kenya as alternative for expensive importation of petroleum products therefore enhancing balance of trade.

Epra is the only regulator in this country that regularly stakeholders, experts and members of the public on matters policy, regulations and strategy. This is important not only because of the constitution requirement but for buy in and as a measure of good practice that creates ownership snd sustainability.
