Appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors EPRA on 24th July 2026, Hon. Mwambu Mabongah is an accomplished leader with extensive expertise in corporate governance, legislative advocacy, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. He brings over two decades experience in public service, executive and board leadership. At EPRA, he provides strategic leadership to the Board, overseeing corporate governance, fiduciary oversight, and accountability.

Hon. Mabongah has recently served as the Board Chairman of the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (2023 - 2026) and the Insurance Regulatory Authority (2023), where he led strategic planning, budget oversight, change management, and corporate rebranding initiatives. He previously served as Member of Parliament for Bumula Constituency (2017-2022), serving in the Special Funds Accounts and Innovation and Communication Committees, and as Political Advisor to the Governor, County Government of Trans-Nzoia (2014-2017).

Earlier in his career, he served in the Kenya Prisons Service as Provincial Rehabilitation Officer, Chaplain-in-Charge at the Prisons Staff Training College, Ruiru, and Rehabilitation Officer in the Office of the Vice President.

Hon. Mabongah is a Ph.D Candidate in Management and Leadership at Management University of Africa, holds an M.A. in Counselling Psychology from Daystar University, a Bachelor of Theology from East Africa School of Theology, and a Certificate in Mission Work and Leadership from Living Word Bible School, Bergen, Norway. He is a good standing member of Institute of Directors (Kenya)
